This is a website prepared by Lau Chun Wang (212577722) where Assignment 2 of GEOG 4440 will be presented for submission. At the first place, the geographic location of the provided dataset (A2DATA.pix) is not specified in the instruction nor metadata. Therefore, by using the Cursor Control option and referring back to User Defined Projection in Geomatica, it is known that the co-ordinate of the remote sensing image is 46°40'39.8"N 84°21'08.8"W and it is located at the northern area of Sault St. Marie, Ontario, Canada. The purpose of this assignment is to extract the roads from the image. Unfortunately, different kinds of noise and artifacts are obvious within the data. Thus, they have to be filtered out before further enhancement and extraction.
